We also aim to responsibly source our raw materials and to manage sustainability risks across our supply chains. Product

Axxence is the world’s leading manufacturer and distributor of natural, transparent and sustainably sourced aroma ingredients for the flavours and fragrances industry. We have made it our mission to further develop our portfolio of natural ingredient products to change the way flavours and fragrances are made. With a dedicated team of 27 scientists and an investment of 12.5% into research and development, we have built a strong knowledge base that enables us to develop high-quality natural aroma ingredients and forward-looking solutions for our customers.

All our products are derived from agricultural feedstocks and produced using gentle processing such as biotechnology or kitchen chemistry. Biotechnology is a green processing method that often uses less resources than traditional approaches and results in high levels of product quality and consistency.

In addition to our internal expertise, we actively collaborate with external partners through more than 10 R&D cooperations across bilateral and publicly funded projects, further expanding our capabilities and supporting responsible innovation for the future.

To us, sustainable sourcing means building responsible, transparent, and resilient supply chains for our natural aroma ingredients. We aim for 100% traceability of raw materials and prioritize local sourcing wherever possible to support regional supply networks and reduce environmental impact.

Our expectations are clearly defined through a Supplier Code of Conduct, while planned supplier audits will further strengthen our due diligence processes and reinforce our long-term commitment to responsible sourcing.

We are proud of our quality track record, with 99.8% of products produced to our highest standards first time. It is supported by strong food safety standards, a practiced quality culture, and the continuous expansion of modern analytical methods. Our food safety and quality statistics are consistently above market average,

We invest in advanced analytical capabilities that go beyond typical industry standards, reflecting our commitment to reliable processes and high-quality natural aroma ingredients. Methods such as SNIF-NMR and mass spectrometry-olfactometry allow us to gain deeper insight into the authenticity, composition, and sensory characteristics of our products.

Through regular training, advanced analysis, and an actively practiced food safety culture, we ensure that product quality remains a key priority at every stage of development, production, and supply.

People

The health, safety, and wellbeing of our employees are core priorities at Axxence. We are proud to report no recordable work-related accidents in the last two years, reflecting our strong safety awareness and responsible working practices. In 2026, we are further strengthening employee training through the launch of a new e-learning platform. This will be complemented by wellness initiatives and medical support to promote long-term employee wellbeing.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do. We actively engage with customers, employees, and research partners to create shared value and support long-term development. Our customer engagement includes bilateral R&D projects as well as regulatory training courses planned and executed by our internal experts.

For employees, we support continuous development through on-the-job training, the establishment of a logistics apprenticeship program in Germany, and opportunities for PhD candidates to work and conduct research in an industry-related environment.

Axxence is committed to supporting cultural and social initiatives in the communities around us. This includes our support of the annual Summer Organ Festival in Bratislava, a concert series that enriches local cultural life and promotes music. We also support the Stefanik Foundation, which works with mentally disabled children, reflecting our commitment to meaningful community engagement beyond our business activities.

Planet

Axxence is taking structured steps to better understand, manage, and reduce its climate impact. Progress metrics for Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions are already in place, and targeted reduction measures are currently being developed. In addition, we have started estimating Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions for 2025, helping us gain a broader view of emissions across our value chain and identify further opportunities for improvement.

We are committed to reducing waste and improving resource efficiency across our operations. Waste reduction metrics are in place to monitor progress, while recyclable and sustainable packaging solutions are already being used for customers served from our German site, reaching 87% by weight.

In addition, biogenic waste is sent to a biogas plant, supporting the circular use of organic material and contributing to more sustainable waste management.

Protecting natural resources is an important part of our sustainability approach. Our production sites are located in areas assessed as low to medium water-stress locations.

We are also implementing a no-palm-oil strategy wherever possible. Since 2022, we have reduced the share of palm-oil-derived products in our total product portfolio by half, bringing it down to 1.67%. Where palm-based materials are still required, we are transitioning to RSPO-certified alternatives, which currently represent 1.64% of our total product portfolio. With this achievement, almost all palm-oil-derived products in our portfolio are now RSPO-certified.

Certification of our Slovakian site has been active since 2025, supporting greater transparency and responsibility in our raw material sourcing.

Governance

At Axxence, sustainability is managed by a dedicated team within the Quality and Regulatory Department, ensuring that sustainability topics are closely connected to quality, compliance, and responsible business practices. The team reports directly to the CEO and Board, reflecting the strategic importance of sustainability across the organization and ensuring clear accountability at the highest management level.

Axxence provides a grievance mechanism that is available to all employees as well as external stakeholders. It enables the anonymous reporting of concerns, potential violations of our Code of Conduct, or breaches of applicable laws and regulations, handled by an external provider. All reports are handled with confidentiality, and Axxence is committed to protecting reporters from any form of retaliation.
